Cote Lane, Thurgoland

Taken at an unknown date, we are looking along Cote Lane from near the end wall of the Top Forge Foundry. To the right are the gates, which at that time led into the main Forge Yard and Office. To the left are cottages and barns associated with the Forge but long since demolished.

The Road, which curves to the right and then back to the left, crosses the river then climbs into the centre of Thurgoland Village. The wall behind the Telegraph Pole protects the boundry of the Small Dam for Top Forge.
