Top Forge Bridge

This is the bridge just down stream from Top Forge. The End wall of the Foundry and the Tripod Crane in the Forge Yard, can be seen on the extreme right.

Unlike today, water is standing under the bridge. This is caused by the weir for Low Forge, now removed.

In the Centre of the Photograph is Forge Grange, the managers house, and to its left, the Farm.

Originally the road to Thurgoland went straight up the bank opposite the bridge and to the rear of the Grange. It was later moved to its present alignment.
