This photograph has been taken well after the site was closed and might date from close to when the site was bought of preservation. The furnace chimneys have all gone, and there is a large hole in the roof of the Joiners Shop, but the car parked on the dam wall may be the best clue to the date.
Smoke can be seen rising from a cottage chimney. These cottages remained occupied for 15 years after the Forge was preserved.
