Donated from Strutt’s Textile Mills near Derby. James Fox was an important Midlands engineer based in Derby. When the workshop was demolished, the cast iron roof frame (dated 1817) was donated to the forge.

Lady Maude’s lathe 1900
Lady Maude, daughter of Earl Fitzwilliam, married Earl of Wharncliffe at Wortley Hall. She did war work in a munitions works and owned her own lathe. In regular use.
