If you have visited the Forge and the Industrial Museum, you might choose to spend time wandering around the grounds.
An ecological survey has been carried out and a trail has been laid out. A walk of about one third of a mile has been documented and a free illustrated leaflet has been prepared.
One can pause at designated spots and take in the views with expert guidance notes.
Our visitors have told us about a Kingfisher (rarely), the Heron, the Grey Wagtails. We have seen rabbits, grass snakes (quite safe) and evidence of moles! Snowdrops and bluebells appear in the woodland. Swallows revisit every summer to nest in the west shed of the Forge. The bats only appear in the twilight.
